Paul has served on the boards of companies that have grown to exits of more than half a billion dollars and he has also started a company from scratch in a ‘garage’ (boat-shed to be precise) that he guided through multiple venture rounds to a successful exit.
It is his passion for early stage entrepreneurship that led him to found his own venture firm that has invested in more than a dozen companies. Having worked alongside a team of over 160 world-class software engineers, Paul has an investment focus on globally scalable technology-based businesses.
Paul’s background in corporate finance, venture capital, and entrepreneurship is expansive. Paul refined his corporate finance skills as an investment director at a multi-billion dollar private equity fund. As a management consultant at Bain & Company he advised C level executives based in San Francisco, London, Frankfurt, Seoul and Sydney. As founding CEO of Onebigswitch, Paul helped grow this startup to >600,000 users, to profitability and to exit.
Paul is unashamedly dedicated to generating outstanding returns for investors and founders in equal measure. As an entrepreneur, Paul understands what outstanding founders need from their financial backers and his style is to back founders for the long-term. Paul has backed several startups with seed capital from their initial pitch deck through to series B and exit stage capital events.
Paul has an MBA and MPA from Harvard. He also has an LLB from the University of Sydney. He has served as a non-executive
director for Rebel Sport, Coco Republic, Onebigswitch, Flamingo, Expense Check, and The Grid Fund.
